My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I’m Hilena! I am an eighteen-month-old terrier mix that was adopted from here a good while back. Somehow or the other I got away from my owner and landed back at the shelter. I had on a small collar and a chain when I was found. My owner was contacted, but he never came to claim me. Now I am on the hunt for a new home. I have all of my vaccinations, I have a microchip, and I have been spayed. One tiny problem did show up on my health check up. It seems that I am heartworm positive. I am not worried! I know the shelter already has my treatment scheduled and I can’t wait to start! If you would like to donate to my treatment I know that shelter would sure appreciate the help! And so would I!!

Additional adoption info

The placement of our adoptable animals into loving, caring homes and thereby enhancing the bond between animals and people is the primary goal of the Montgomery Humane Society Adoption Program. We focus on education so that every pet owner benefits from their contact with the shelter, whether or not they adopt an animal from us. Matching the needs of the animal and the potential owner, as well as educating potential owners about responsible pet ownership, helps to ensure successful pet placements of shelter animals.
