Meet Harriet, a delightful and petite 10-month-old kitty who's blossoming into the confident and playful companion she was always meant to be! Harriet came to us as a stray, and while she initially found comfort in the safety of her foster's basement, she's now confidently exploring the entire house — even upstairs! It’s been so rewarding to see her grow more comfortable in her surroundings, and now she happily joins the resident cats for mealtime, though she’s a bit of a food enthusiast (and might eye your human snacks too!).
Harriet loves curling up on freshly folded towels for a cozy afternoon nap, and she’s especially captivated by the sound of water dripping in the shower. With her soft dark gray fur and charming white belly, she’s a gorgeous girl who will steal your heart with her quiet, yet loving nature.
While Harriet is shy around new people, she truly comes to life once she’s gained your trust. She adores being pet and is always up for a snuggle once she’s feeling comfortable. Her playful side emerges when she’s surrounded by her kitty friends, and she’s often found enjoying the view from her favorite window perch, watching the world go by with curiosity.
If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who’ll brighten your home with her gentle spirit, Harriet might just be the perfect match for you. She’s ready to bring her newfound confidence, playful energy, and sweet affection into your life!
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page.
If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
