8-year-old Gruber was brought to Chula Vista Shelter as a stray, and after a microchip was found, his owner was contacted. Sadly, they didn't come for Gruber, but given the neglected condition he was in, it may have been for the best.
Gruber's intake exam at the shelter revealed a long list of medical needs. While there, he had dental surgery, was neutered, and his bulging, painful left eye was removed. Unfortunately, the area around the stitches and the left side of his face became infected. Gruber arrived at FFF on December 23rd and was immediately seen by our on-site veterinarian, who developed a treatment plan.
Despite all he has been through, Gruber is so sweet. Thankfully, he is eating well and has a bright future ahead once he recovers from the infection.
Gruber is on a two-week Frosted Fling to continue recovering in the comfort of a home while receiving lots of TLC. As you can see in the video, his face already looks better, and he is happily wagging his tail!
Check back soon for an update on how Gruber is doing!
