He needs to find a patient, savvy home where he can get the training that he needs to be successful.
King lived in his previous home for his entire life prior to coming to PACC, however, he was kept as an outdoor pet rather than being allowed indoors. His prior family described him as playful and affectionate.
King can become overstimulated around food or when receiving excessive attention. This has resulted in incidents in his prior home and one minor bite while in the shelter.
King shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been appropriate and independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He has had issues with some dogs seen in his previous home, so he should meet any resident dogs before going home.
King is a friendly dog who walks well on leash and enjoys interacting with people. He needs a family who will provide him with consistent training and a structured environment. His new family should be experienced with dog behavior and willing to work with a qualified trainer to address his specific needs. With the right guidance and support, King will thrive in a loving and stable home. Adoption Process: Interested parties: •Must visit PACC before the 5:00 PM January 30, 2025, deadline to meet with an adoption counselor who will go over notes and then introduce you to ensure that it’s a good fit. •Are encouraged to reach out to a rescue group ASAP (even before coming to PACC), to start the rescue approval process. Have the rescue contact PACC atPACC.UrgentDogs@pima.gov if approved to pull. Collaboration with Rescue Groups: •Rescue groups are encouraged to reach out to PACC early if they are able to pull this animal into their rescue (and what requirements they would have: interested adoptive party, alteration etc.) •If an IP has not already contacted a rescue, PACC will notify all partnered rescue groups of an interested party and request their assistance. •Rescue groups are encouraged to start their adoption process with any interested parties who have contacted them directly and email PACC at PACC.UrgentDogs@pima.gov.

Meet the Pet
Once you have decided which pets you are interested in, sign in for an adoption counselor who will guide you through the adoption process.

Take the Pet Home
Cats must leave in a carrier and dogs must leave in a carrier or on leash. We do have these available for purchase in our lobby store.

• A standard $20 dog license fee may apply
• Pets who have been waiting for more than 2 weeks for a family and pets over 5 years old $0 - Fee Waived!
