My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Pierce was brought in by his previous owner on November 13, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Pierce, a handsome green-eyed feline looking for his new home! Pierce can be a little shy at first, and may need some extra time to adjust to his new home. Once he feels safe, he loves a good cuddle session and will happily come to you for attention. He absolutely loves being brushed and will stick by your side to be groomed. He's also an avid birdwatcher and enjoys posting up by a window to keep a lookout. While mostly laid-back, he enjoys the occasional play session and will be your best friend if you win him over with treats. Pierce has done well with older kids and teens who respect his need for quiet and calm but would prefer a home without young children due to his sensitivity to loud noises and sudden movements. He's also coexisted peacefully with mellow, cat-savvy dogs who respect his space. If you're ready to offer love and understanding, Pierce could be the perfect companion for you! More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
