Dog Name: Zen.
Breed: Hound mix.
Sex: Male.
Age: 8 months.
Weight: 45 lbs.
Medical Needs: none.
Housebroken: yes, great with a schedule. He will alert you by going back & forth to the door to let you know he has to go.
Crate trained: yes, he will go right in and he gets a treat for going in like a good boy. Do not recommend dog beds in there with him as they will “explode” while you’re away. He has no idea why or how. He does get a crate mat and he does well with it.
Good in the car: yes, he lays down but would not hurt to have a seat belt and harness.
Good on a leash: pretty good but getting better with each walk.
Energy level: Puppy energy but does relax on the couch with a toy once his zoomies are all out.
Need a fenced in yard: not needed but he’d love it for his zoomies. He will need walks if no fence for that energy.
Dog Friendly: yes, he loves to play. He can be a bit much depending on the dog.
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? Not needed.
Cat Friendly? No cats but was told from previous foster he seemed interested but did not chase.
Kid Friendly: yes.
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with?
Any with proper supervision.
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them?
Zen is not only adorable but he is such a sweet boy. He loves getting all the loving and giving love. You’ve been warned, those kisses are sloppy. He is still a puppy so he has quite a bit of energy but he has lots of outlets to get it all out. Then he will snuggle up on the couch with a good chew toy. He loves to get his zoomies out in the yard just running around with a toy or chasing a ball. He’s so cute while playing outside, little ears flopping every where and all smiles. Zen also has the cutest hops as if he’s part kangaroo while he’s outside playing. He gets fed with his pizza snuffle mat and it keeps him busy and stimulates that beautiful brain of his. We also go for walks and he enjoys taking in all the sights. Zen is a puppy so he will keep you on your toes and keep you laughing. He can be quite the goofy goober. No mud puddle is safe around him either! He is very smart and always willing to learn. Zen has been hard at work with learning some commands that’ll help him focus on being the best boy that I know he can be! He is a pro at sit, shake and knows the meaning of no. Working hard on stay, come and off. He loves to be told he’s a good boy and is very treat motivated. He sits before he gets his meals and before going outside. He has been thriving from a house with structure and fun adventures! If you’re willing to put in the work to continue to help him be the best boy he can be, put in an app today!
