My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kip, a 7-8-year-old, 23-pound beagle with beautiful white and tan coloring and a heart as gentle as his personality. Kip is the definition of a loyal companion—he loves being near his person but in a calm and unobtrusive way. Whether he’s relaxing on his dog bed or joining you for a leisurely moment, Kip is content simply being close to you. He’s not a jumper or furniture climber, and his excellent manners make him a joy to have in the home.

Kip thrives on routine and loves his daily 3-mile walks, where he shows off his impeccable leash skills. He is calm and well-behaved around other dogs of all sizes, both at home and on walks, and has shown no signs of aggression or reactivity. While Kip hasn’t met any cats yet, his lack of interest in birds and squirrels suggests he’d likely do fine. Kip isn’t a fan of toys or balls, preferring quiet companionship over playtime.

Fully housebroken and quick to learn commands like “sit” and “stay,” Kip is a smart and adaptable dog who picks up routines with ease. Though he doesn’t have separation anxiety, Kip is not comfortable in a crate, so he’d do best in a home where he can roam freely when you’re away.

If you’re looking for a calm, loving, and well-mannered dog who will melt your heart with his sweetness, Kip is your perfect match. To meet Kip, please fill out an application at bcaaofnj.org.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.
