Major is a calm, affectionate boy who wins hearts with his soft eyes and gentle demeanor. He’s easy to leash and walks well, even pausing to greet other dogs with loose, friendly body language.
In quieter settings, Major thrives. He leans in for affection, allows all-over handling, and takes treats gently. He already knows “sit” and carries himself with relaxed, well-mannered disposition.
Major is looking for a forever family who will appreciate his sweet and gentle personality. Could that be you?
Eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet Major at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering him.

Per Volunteer on 1/7: "Major's kennel is located in a drafty part of the shelter and since he is skinny, we decided to put him in a sweater to keep him toasty. He was easy to maneuver into the sweater - no issues handling him when I put it over his head or when I lifted his legs into the sweater. This boy is just the sweetest!"
Per volunteer 1/7/25: This loving dog is such a sweetheart! He handles well on the leash, very attentive to his handler and loves his treats! He sits on command.
Per staff 1/5/25: Major was very sweet for their meeting but was mostly focused on smelling and wandering around. Accepted pets happily though and was loose the whole time.
Per volunteer 1/3/25: Took him out today - he was an angel. Good on a leash, calm in yard, loving, good with all over handling. Loved to sniff but would circle back and touch base with me. Took him to my car because I forgot my gloves and he jumped right in. Skinny little guy and his face is a disaster but he is so sweet.
1/1/25 volunteer noted: "Major caught my eye today as he looked up at me with his soft eyes. He was very easy to leash and walked smoothly through the kennels. He stopped to great two dogs ,who were kenneled , with loose body language and wagging tail. Once outside he walked nicely on leash. He saw dogs through the fence and had positive body language. He is very sweet and gentle and leans in for affection."
