My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A volunteer writes:
Sophie's past is a mystery and she is not able to tell us anything about it...She came in quite sick, found near a building's dumpster by a good samaritan. Sophie had pyometra..had as she is now as good as new after her spay. Sophie is a young gal, a thin little tiger who until recently did not really want to have anything to do with people. She did not trust us...It is quite understandable. Sophie is a wise kitty, though as indicated by her name. Overtime, she understood that our goal was to make her feel good and better. Sophie is a "changed" cat, still a bit timid but looking for company and enjoying it when she gets it. What a transformation! Sophie is a pleasure to spend time with and makes you feel co welcome as she leans into pets, purrs and spreads on her kennel floor for deep neck and back scratching. Sophie dreams of a real  home where she would be loved and love back. Come and meet her very soon at the Manhattan Care Center.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I would do best in a home with only adult humans.
