My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This pet needs emergency placement. Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information.

Casserole is on the at-risk list due to medical concerns. She is struggling with a severe upper respiratory infection while in the shelter. Her oral ulcers make eating difficult. Casserole needs medical management in a veterinary clinic to recover.

A volunteer writes:Culotte(what a peculiar name) is a pretty and petite young lady wrapped in a lovely peach color dress. Culotte was at first a little unsure meeting me but as days went by, she became more relaxed and "collapsed" into pets. She calls for attention from her kennel and even lets me know that it is time to play as she is rolling a catnip ball between her paws. Ok, I am coming...Culotte likes company and gets quite excited playing with feather wands, may be a little too excited at times and the best is to call for a time out. Culotte goes back quickly into her sweety pie mode, accepting caresses and blinking slowly as she listens to me singing to her. Culotte has presently a big cold and is not a fan of the vet team who come with needles instead of toys...Like in a doctor's office, physicians are not always a hit among our youngest patients. Culotte needs to go to a veterinary hospital in order to accept and get all the medical management she needs . She is an adorable little gal and so needs your attention and help. Culotte is at the Manhattan Care Center.

Casserole interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, and tolerates all petting. We recommend that she go to a home with adopters with some cat experience preferred AND well counseled in overstimulation. Due to the behavior shown, she may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.
