My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet River, a goofy and playful pup who’s still adjusting to shelter life after taking some time to settle in. Though he’s a little nervous around new people, places, and things, River’s true personality shines through once he feels comfortable. With his familiar human friends, he’s all about silliness, affection, and fun. River can be nervous with some dogs but loves to play with others, so we recommend a meet-and-greet with any potential canine siblings here at the shelter. He’s looking for a patient and understanding adopter who can help him continue building confidence and show him how wonderful the world can be, one step at a time!

More about this shelter

Northeast Animal Shelter, established in 1976, is now part of the MSPCA-Angell, giving us a better opportunity to serve our community, provide additional life-saving programs and services, and protect more animals from cruelty and neglect.

Our adoption program is designed to be welcoming, nonjudgmental, and free of lengthy applications. We strive to engage all prospective adopters in a conversation aimed at matching an adopter’s lifestyle, interests and home environment with an animal’s personality, medical and behavioral needs. Adopting an animal is an extraordinary opportunity to choose your newest family member. At the MSPCA it is a great privilege for our staff and volunteers to guide that journey for adopters and animals.
