M y name is Sheldon and I am 4 years old! After a long court case battle I am FINALLY ready for my forever home. I am a sweet and gentle man who just wants some love and affection from ANYONE. I like my walks but I do tend to pull hard so someone who is strong enough to handle me would be preferred. I am working with a trainer and know "sit" and "down". My trainer feels that I have a lot of potential if someone wants to keep up my basic obedience training, my eyes show that I am eager to learn! I love to play ball (or try to, I don't always bring it back) so I think that a young family will be a good fit for me as I have lots of extra energy to give. If you feel that I am the right fit for your family please visit petslifeline.org and fill out an application today!

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
