My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

💎MAYA💎, a 6-1/2 month old Husky with eyes as blue as the Arctic sky, causes more double-takes than a magician pulling rabbits from hats.... after all Maya's name means "magical". Her coat, a dazzling white canvas splattered with black, brown, and gray, was the envy of every fashionista in the canine world.
Maya thrives on fun and adventure. She loves going for walks and enjoys playtime in the yard, where she can stretch her legs and explore her surroundings. Her playful nature will keep you entertained and active. Her striking appearance, paired with her sweet demeanor, makes her a dog that is both beautiful inside and out.
Important Note: Maya is currently available for pre-adoption and will be ready to go home after her surgery next week.
Don’t let the chance to welcome this sweet girl into your life pass you by—Maya can’t wait to find her forever family! Maya is ready to start her next adventure with YOU so stop by to meet her!

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
