My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kaya, a beautiful black cat with a heart of gold! Kaya joined Murci's Mission when her family had a new baby and their lives became too busy to have a place for her. Her estimated birthday is 05/19/2016.

Kaya is an exceptionally sweet and loving cat who craves attention. When she is greeted, she will meet you by rolling over non-stop to show her excitement. She likes to press her head into your hand and get rubbed under the chin and on her ears. She isn't a huge fan of being picked up. She is an expert biscuit maker and loves to knead quite agressively. She really loves companionship and will show you how much she appreciates it. She would love a family of her own to love her forever for the next chapter of her life. In return, you will get the same amount of love back!

Kaya is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and dewormed. Her adoption fee is $50. If she sounds like a good fit for your family, please submit an application to adopt. She's quite the catch! :)

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
