My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Garfield
Domestic Shorthair, Born in October 2021, Orange Tabby, Neutered male

Garfield is FIV+. Learn More

Hey there! I’m Garfield, and I’ve got to tell you - I’m ready for my next great adventure with YOU! Sure, life threw me some curveballs when I lost my first human and had to rough it outdoors for awhile, but that’s ancient history for now. Thanks to a kind neighbor and the amazing folks at C.A.R.E, I got my second chance, and wow, have I made the most of it!

Look, I’ll be honest - the adoption center wasn’t my scene. But once I got into my foster home? That’s when the real Garfield emerged! Now I’m living my best life as a professional companion and certified purr machine.

Want to know my perfect day? It starts with claiming the warmest sunspot by the window, follows with some quality lap time (my purring skills are legendary), and includes plenty of “helping” with whatever my foster mom is doing. Working on your computer? I’ll proofread! Taking a break? Don’t worry, I’ll keep your seat warm!

I’m looking for someone who’s home most of the time because, let’s face it, life just better when we’re together. I promise to bring the perfect mix of playfulness and chill vibes to your home. Plus, I’m excellent at turning ordinary moments into cozy memories.

So, what do you say? Ready to give this charming 4-year-old orange gentleman another shot at forever? I promise to make it worth your while with endless purrs, cuddles, and loyal companionship.

Purrsonality Traits: Affectionate shadow, gentle soul, cozy supervisor

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
