Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
**Adoption visits are by appointment only** If you see an animal you`re interested in, fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet Winston is an active young dog looking for his forever home! He has lived with other dogs but we are not sure about children or feline friends. Winston will enjoy a home with lots of daily activities and some structured training.
Winston recently went on a Wandering Rover outing and his partner said: `I took him out last week as part of the Wandering Rover Program and he was so much fun. Winston is a great walker on a leash and loves to play with toys!! He will make a great addition to your family.`
Another Rover took him and said: Winston wanted to be in the front seat of our car. One of us had to sit in the back seat with him to keep him there. He was better on the return trip. He stayed in the back seat by himself. He walked well but does pull. When he was taken for another walk just prior to returning to the shelter the pulling decreased quite a bit. He is very interested in people and often tried to move towards them. He did not bark or act aggressively towards other dogs. He played great in our backyard and in our house. After chasing a ball he would return it and drop it at our feet. Overall a great dog and well behaved for his age.

Our shelter is currently closed for general animal viewing, but we’ve still got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt them. To help keep our staff, volunteers and community healthy, we are now providing adoptions by appointment. This enables us to comply with social distancing guidelines while still finding loving homes for the pets in our care.
How does this work?
First, check out our available animals online. If you see an animal you’re interested in, visit our website (www.everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet) to complete an online adoption application.
Our staff will review your application and contact you to discuss the adoption. Please note that we receive many applications, and it may take up to a week before you are contacted.
Adoption appointments are set up using strict social distancing protocols, and many transactions are processed ‘curbside’ outdoors. Our staff will go over appointment details when they speak with you.
Renters bring rental pet policy at time of adoption. Not having the rental pet policy available may delay or nullify an adoption.
Animals are usually able to go home right away, so be prepared for your new pet to leave with you.
CATS
- Adult cats (over 6 months): $50
- Kittens (6 months and under): $125
- Two kittens adopted at the same time: $200
SMALL ANIMALS & BIRDS
- Adoption fees vary based on species
