Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Bawk-bawk! My name is Camilla the Chicken, and I’m a 4-year-old mixed breed pup with a heart full of feathers and fun! I’ve come all the way from the chilly mountain tops of West Virginia, and now I’m ready to spread my wings and find my forever home!
Just like my Muppet counterpart, I may not be the loudest or flashiest, but I’ve got a sweet, gentle soul and a cluck-tacular personality. I may have the heart of a chicken, but I’ve got the spirit of a true Muppet! Whether I’m running around the yard, flapping my paws, or snuggling up for some quiet time, I’ll keep you entertained and loved all day long.
Here’s what you can expect when you adopt me, Camilla the Chicken:
Sweet and gentle nature: I might be a little shy at first (I am a chicken, after all!), but once I trust you, I’ll be your loyal companion and will shower you with love and cuddles.
A little quirky: Just like my Muppet namesake, I’ve got some unique charm. My playful side will keep you smiling, and I’ve got just enough chicken-like energy to keep things interesting!
Lover of naps: After a fun day of exploring and playing, I’m all about cozying up next to you and taking a nap—just like any self-respecting chicken would do!
A snuggle bug: I may be small, but my love is BIG. When the fun’s over, I’ll happily curl up and enjoy some quiet bonding time with you.
Ideal Home:
A loving, patient family who’s ready to give me time to adjust, with plenty of playtime and quiet cuddles.
Someone who appreciates a calm, affectionate pup with a little bit of feathery flair!
A peaceful home where I can feel safe and loved, with time for both adventure and relaxation.
Other pets? Sure! I’m a friendly chicken (I mean, puppy) who would love to have some furry companions to share my love with.
If you’re looking for a sweet, quirky, and affectionate pup who will bring warmth, love, and just a little bit of chicken flair to your life, then Camilla the Chicken is the one for you! Let’s cluck our way to a lifetime of joy and memories together!

Find the pet for you at the Adoption Center:
Angels of Assisi’s adoption center is open from 12-6pm, 7 days a week. Adoption Specialists and Volunteer Ambassadors are eager to help you find the pet that would fit best in your family.
Adoptable Pets in Foster Homes:
Some of our available pets are currently in foster homes. If an animal is currently in a foster home, it is noted in the animal's biography online. To meet a pet in foster care, please fill out a non-binding adoption application, and the foster parent will contact you to schedule a meet and greet once the application has been approved (generally within 24 hours).
Found the perfect addition to your family? Now what?
The next step is to fill out an adoption application. You can complete and application online (preferred) or stop by the adoption center to fill out a paper application. Adopters must be 18 years of age or older. If you rent your home, we will need to contact your landlord or see a copy of your lease to verify the pet policy. Most applications can be approved within 24-48 hours.
Taking Your New Pet Home
After paying the adoption fee and pending the approval of your application, you may take your new pet home immediately. Adoption fees may vary and can be found on our website at:
