My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Introducing Lizzy: Your Future Best Friend!**

Are you prepared to welcome a truly unique companion into your life? Meet Lizzy, a 9-year-old German Shepherd with a gentle heart and immense potential. Although she may initially appear anxious, Lizzy is a sensitive girl eager for the right person to nurture her growth!

With her expressive eyes, Lizzy may exhibit a bit of nervousness, but that only adds to her appeal. Once she feels secure, her playful side comes alive, particularly when engaging with her buddy, staff member Megan.

Lizzy enjoys gentle affection at her own pace. While she might shy away at first, her sweet personality emerges as she learns to trust.

Lizzy is looking for a serene home where she will be the only pet, and can feel cherished and protected. If you possess empathy and patience, she could be the ideal addition to your household.

Are you ready to be the one who helps Lizzy embrace the joy of companionship? Come and meet her today!

More about this shelter

We are a local non-profit organization run and staffed by your neighbors. We make decisions on caring for homeless, unwanted, abandoned and abused domestic animals based on what we believe is best for them. We have no affiliation with any larger group and we receive no funding from any larger group that might influence our decisions or actions.

We advocate only for the animals in our care to help them find their forever home with you.

UPAWS does not receive operating funds from any governmental agency. We rely on donations from our neighbors and friends to make our efforts possible. We save consistently 98% of the animals who come to us – which is an award-winning success story. We want to educate everyone on proper animal care so there soon won’t be the three percent who come to us too sick or wounded to be saved. It’s your support that makes this dream possible.
