My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Sadie was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on October 26, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Sadie, a sweet senior gal who's ready to find her new home! This gentle soul is a friend to everyone she meets, leaning into pets and soaking up all the love she can get. She enjoys treats, making her an easy companion for training and bonding. Sadie walks beautifully on a leash, and is the perfect partner for leisurely strolls. She is also a sleepy girl who is happy to spend the day napping by your side. Sadie prefers to be the only dog in the home as is not a candidate for off-leash venues such as dog parks. While she has some medical needs that come with being a senior, she is full of love to give. If you're looking for a loyal friend to brighten your days, come by our Oceanside Campus and meet Sadie today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
