Are you looking for a friendly little dog with a spunky and playful personality? Come meet Arlo! Arlo is an approximately three-years-old, 13-pound male Chihuahua mix. He was found as a stray on Christmas Eve, 2024 and no owner was located. Arlo is nervous with new people but give him a little time to warm up and he will soon show his friendly and fun side. Arlo LOVES to play with toys and will chase them, shake them, and squeak them. If you think there's nothing more cute than a dog with his stuffy toy, well then Arlo is the one for you; guaranteed hours of CUTENESS! Arlo walks well on leash overall and would love to be your walking buddy. He has done fine with other dogs he's met so far at the shelter, but he prefers if they don't try to steal his toys (he will growl if they do). Arlo would do best in a home with no small children, as he is wary of new people and loud noises. Does Arlo sound like the cute new dog you've been looking for? Adoption fees are dependent on the age and breed of the animal as well as monthly or seasonal promotions. Please inquire directly as to fee of any animal you're interested in. We do require meet & greets and adopter to be present in person and provide valid id.

More about this rescue

"Chi Town" is short for "Chihuahua Town," which is our nick-name because we found that the majority of animals we were rescuing happened to be Chihuahuas and literally have a little “town” comprised of Chihuahuas! Chihuahuas are one of the most over-bred dogs in Arizona and unfortunately many end up in need of rescue. However, we are not limited to saving just Chihuahas, we do save other breeds dependent on availability of space. Chi Town also specializes in rescuing dogs who require a little extra TLC and are at risk of euthanasia at county shelters. These dogs may not be doing well for a variety of reasons- fear, fear aggression, anxiety, or a medical issue to name a few. These are the dogs that typically have no other outlet and for which time is of the essence . After our dogs are medically cleared and/or their behavioral issues have improved, they are available for adoption.

Please be aware that we do our very best to answer all questions in a timely manner.
