My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Honi Honi, a sweet and playful pup with a heart full of love! This friendly social butterfly thrives on cuddles, long walks, and spending time with her favorite people. She'll happily hop into the car for a joyride and enjoys meeting new friends—both human and doggie alike!
Honi Honi is bursting with personality and potential, but she does need a little help polishing her manners. She’s still working on house training, staying calm when left alone, and mastering her leash skills (she’s quite the enthusiastic walker!). With a patient and loving adopter who’s ready to invest some time and consistency, she’ll blossom into an even more amazing companion.
Honi Honi would adore a home with a backyard to explore or someone who’ll take her out for multiple walks a day. She loves bundling up in a nice cozy blanket and would absolutely snuggle up with you at night if given the chance. While she’s still honing her house manners, she’s incredibly treat-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding.
Key things to note:
Dietary Needs: Honi Honi requires a hydrolyzed diet (z/d) for her sensitive tummy.
Harness: A harness, not a collar, is a must for her sensitive throat.
Puppy Personality: She needs guidance with house training, separation anxiety, and curbing her playful penchant for chewing and counter surfing.
Honi Honi has shown a knack for forming best-friend bonds (both with kids and other dogs!), so she’d do well in a home that offers companionship and lots of love. If you’re looking for an affectionate, playful pup who’ll fill your life with joy and laughter, Honi Honi is waiting to meet you!

Additional adoption info

Each adoption consists of an interview, application, counseling session, and adoption contract. All adoptions are handled on a case-by-case basis, but most adoptions are first-come, first-served, and holds cannot be placed in advance for someone to meet with an animal. All animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Please see http://www.nevadahumanesociety.org/ for more information including all currently available animals, adoption prices, resources, and events.

More about this shelter

Nevada Humane Society is a non-profit organization whose lifesaving work is made possible through donations. In 2007, NHS became a no-kill shelter and launched a bold effort to help Washoe County become a no-kill community. In 2014, NHS expanded lifesaving efforts to include Carson City. Today, more than 70,000 animals have been placed into loving homes since 2007 and NHS continues to grow, maintaining its status as one of the top communities in the country for saving homeless pets.
