Looking for a sweet, loyal companion who just needs a little time and patience to truly shine? Meet Mylo, the 2-year-old Hound who`s got a big heart, a little shyness, and the potential to be your best friend for life! Mylo may be a bit reserved at first, but with a little love and some tasty treats, he’ll warm up quickly and show you just how sweet and loving he can be.
Mylo’s got the classic Hound energy, and while he’s a bit shy, he’s got a playful side that comes out when he feels comfortable. He’s a good boy at heart—he just needs someone who’s willing to take the time to get to know him.
Training Needs & Requirements:
Mylo’s still learning the ropes when it comes to basic training, so he’s looking for a patient and experienced owner who can help him build his confidence and manners. Here’s what you need to know about Mylo’s training needs:
Basic Obedience Training: Mylo is still working on his basic commands, so he would benefit from some extra training and consistency. He’s eager to please and will thrive with positive reinforcement methods like treats, praise, and gentle guidance. Resource Guarding: Mylo has shown some food aggression and tends to guard his food. With proper training, this behavior can be managed and improved. A patient owner who can work with him on resource guarding will help him learn to feel secure around food and feeding times. High Prey Drive: As a Hound, Mylo has a high prey drive. He is not recommended for a home with cats or small animals, as he may show interest in chasing them. Shy and Sensitive: Mylo can be a little shy at first, but once he’s comfortable and trusts you, he’s a loving and affectionate dog. Treats and gentle encouragement will help him feel safe and secure as he gets to know you. Ideal Home:
Mylo would do best with an experienced dog owner who understands how to work with resource guarding and can provide him with consistent training. He would thrive in a calm, structured home, preferably with no cats or small animals. Older, dog-savvy children would be fine, but he’s not suited for a home with young kids.
Why Mylo?
Mylo is a sweet, loyal dog who just needs a little time to trust you. Once he warms up, he’s sure to be your faithful companion. His affectionate nature and willingness to learn make him a perfect fit for an owner who’s ready to give him the time, love, and training he deserves.

We require potential adopters to fill out an pre-adoption application. If that application is approved, the dog/cat must be spayed/neutered before it leaves our shelter (if not already done). If it is a puppy under 4 months old, we allow it to go home with the adopters under a foster care agreement until it is old enough to be returned for spay/neuter. Kittens are allowed to leave before spay/neuter is done, but they must be done within a certain time frame.
Fees: Dogs/puppies range from $150-300, depending on if they came in already spayed/neutered or if we paid to have that done.
Cats range from $80 - $140, though we often have deals on older cats or cats that have been there a long time.
Kittens are $60 with $25 refunded once it has been spayed/neutered.
All adoptions include at least the first vaccination, deworming, de-fleaing, microchip ID, and 6 weeks of pet insurance.
