My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 10 Months
Sex: Neutered Male
Breed: Chihuahua Mix
Weight: 12lbs
Adoption fee: $300 (altered, vaccines up to date, microchipped, vet checked)
Location: In foster, please fill out an application at azsmalldog.org/adoption-form

Compatibility with other dogs: Good
Compatibility with cats: Good
Compatibility with kids: Good
Energy level: Moderate

PNut is no ordinary dog—he’s a shining example of resilience and joy! Born with cerebellar hypoplasia, PNut has a unique wobble to his step, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit. He’s mastered the art of bouncing back (literally!)—a quick tumble doesn’t faze this determined pup. He’s always ready to hop up, wag his tail, and keep chasing life’s adventures. PNut’s personality is as big as his heart. He’s a quiet, affectionate soul who lives for snuggle sessions and being close to his people. When he’s not soaking up cuddles, you’ll find him happily playing with his favorite toys, showing off his fun and playful side. To help him stay strong and build his posture, PNut comes with his own custom wheelchair. While he doesn’t need it to get around, it’s a great tool to help build his strength and posture. PNut thrives in an environment where his family can be there for him—helping when needed but also cheering him on as he explores his world with determination and grit. PNut is a loyal companion who forms deep bonds with his people. He might be a little shy at first, but once he trusts you, he’ll be your constant shadow and biggest fan. He’s fantastic with gentle, small dogs and is a dream roommate for cats, too! This incredible pup is looking for a family who can match his spirit—someone ready to embrace his unique abilities, celebrate his independence, and share in his love of life. PNut is not a dog defined by his challenges; he’s a dog defined by his courage, his cuddles, and his unshakeable zest for living.

More about this rescue

Arizona Small Dog Rescue is a non profit registered 501(c)3 no kill rescue shelter. We are a group of volunteers who have dedicated our lives to rescuing and saving homeless, unwanted, abandoned, neglected, and abused small dogs. We save most of our animals from kill shelters around the valley, but also accept owner surrenders and stray surrenders. Owner surrender fee’s vary depending on space and availability. We spay/neuter, vaccinate, medically examine, microchip, and evaluate and/or socialize all dogs that come into our rescue before placing up for adoption to pre-screened homes. We rescue many dogs every week and always have a wide variety of personalities and breeds available who would be a perfect fit for any family and any home.
