My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This soft little cutie can't wait to find a new bestie! In the past, though shy with strangers, Piper has displayed a major sweet side and is reported to eat treats and lean into pets.

Generally inexperienced with change and having had few opportunities to make new human friends, Piper understandably found the shelter environment quite overwhelming. However, given the chance to decompress and warm up on her own timeline, her adorable personality has re-emerged.

Piper has previously lived successfully with other cats and is recommended to join a future multi-cat home, as we expect that a confident feline buddy or two may help her come out of her shell most quickly. At this time, Piper is available to households with kids aged 10+ or no kids.

How to Adopt from Foothills Animal Shelter:
Visit the Shelter or one of our offsite adoption partner locations to find a pet. Once you’ve decided on an animal, you should check with staff to see the status and history of the animal. At this time, you can fill out an adoption application and visit with the animal.

We recommend you bring all family members to the Shelter to meet with the animal before you consider adopting. If you are interested in adopting a dog, bring any household dogs to the Shelter to determine if it is a good match. Also, if you rent your home, please bring the pet policy in your lease or rental agreement and contact information for your landlord.

Once your application is reviewed, you can pay the adoption fees and take your new pet home. It may take some time for your new pet to adjust to its new environment. If you have questions or concerns after adopting, please contact us at 303-278-7575.
