My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LION-O ~~ Domestic Shorthair, Grey, Neutered Male, 19 pounds, Microchipped,
DOB: 2/26/2022

Meet Lion-O, our big, handsome grey boy with gorgeous green-golden eyes! If you are a fan of large male cats, Lion-O definitely wants to meet you! Don't tell him, but he does need to lose few pounds and has begun his weight loss journey with a special diet (Royal Canin MultiFunction Urinary/Satiety Formula).

Lion-O is a sometimes shy boy who may take a little time to warm up to new people. Just go slowly with him, let him come to you and adjust at his own pace. Once he is familiar with you, he will purr up a storm and you will have a big, grey friend for life. He is playful, enjoys treats (in moderation, of course) and would love to find a home with some comfy beds and a nice big window to look out.

Lion-O is up to date on all of his vaccines and vet services and lab work, is healthy, microchipped, neutered and has a negative combo test and negative fecal test. His adoption fee is $130 and he will come home with one month of Feline Revolution Plus (to be given every 30 days for life to protect against heartworms, fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites and ear mites).

Lion-O does need to be the only cat in the house because he does not like other cats. We are not sure how he does with friendly dogs, as he has not been around them. He may also do well with older children who don't try to pick him up.

If you're looking for a big and stunning, green eyed grey boy to add to your family, come meet Lion-O, spend some time hanging out with him and see if he is a good match for you and your family.

Additional adoption info

Our goal is to find good homes for all of the sick and injured pets we have, and to adopt them out in the best health possible. Each pet is fully vetted and cared for by our amazing Veterinary Staff! Our adoption fee is $130, which includes a spay or neuter, age appropriate vaccines, and a microchip. We offer a two week trial period, during which time you may return the pet for a full refund if the placement does not work out. We will accept a pet back after two weeks, but no refund will be issued. If a pet is returned after a longer time period we may require a $130 relinquishment fee. We do not perform home visits or have any particular adoption requirements, such as fenced yard. We do, however, reserve the right to turn down potential adopters if we feel like it will not be in the best interest of the pet.

Go meet their pets

Our Clinic is located at 12604 Crabapple Road, Alpharetta, Georgia 30004. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:30AM to 7:00PM and Saturday-Sunday 8AM to 4PM. We have a few adoption events at the Clinic each year. All of our adoptable pets may be visited at the Clinic at any time. However, if a pet is labeled as being fostered, please call ahead so we can arrange to have the pet available for you.

More about this rescue

Our Stray Program began in 1988, with one dog named Redman. He was rescued by a client who indicated that he had belonged to a homeless man. The man had since disappeared, and the red Chow was ill and now living on his own. We brought him to our Clinic and named him Redman. He tested heartworm positive, was treated for that condition and was also neutered. One of our Veterinarians fell in love and adopted him. Unfortunately, Redman did not live long due to heartworm disease, but enjoyed several great years with his new owner. It was because of Redman that our Stray Program for sick and injured animals came to fruition. We began a fund to support the Program and, since then, have found many sick and injured pets their forever homes! Thanks to Dr. Joe Gaston, we are able to continue our work to help sick and injured strays, and have the opportunity to give back to our pet community!
