Luna is a 5 month old chihuahua blend weighing in at about 13 lbs that is ready to find her furever home through PAWS Rescue inc.
When Luna first arrived in rescue she was shy and unsure about being indoors—or people, for that matter. But that didn’t last long! She quickly realized that people mean treats, and she loves treats. She’s learning how to be a puppy, and the fosters three small dogs, who love to play, have been great teachers. She rarely barks and only does so if one of the other dogs starts it. Even then, her bark is soft and unique, like she’s just giving it her best try.
She’s been around cats and seems to like them, though she doesn’t quite understand why they don’t want to play with her.
She’s a snuggler through and through—always wanting to be near someone. At bedtime, she wiggles under the blankets to get as close to you as possible. She’s got a big appetite, so she’s always on the lookout for her next meal. While she’s still learning to share her food, she’s made remarkable progress over the past few weeks.
When she feels like she’s upset you, it’s tough on her because she’s so eager to be a “good puppy.” But those moments are rare—just the usual puppy stuff.
She’s not a chewer (shoes are all safe!), and she hasn’t had any accidents in the house, so she is house trained. Overall, she’s an incredible puppy with a sweet personality and would make a fantastic companion for someone ready to give her a loving home. She would do best in a home with another small- medium dog to play with. Fenced yard required.

Since our formation in early 2013, we have helped save thousands of cats and dogs throughout Idaho from neglect, abuse, and death. Many of our rescues come from the Burley Idaho Animal Shelter where PAWS has transformed what was once a high kill facility to a shelter where every adoptable animal gets a second chance! PAWS also takes in stray pets from all over Idaho including Twin Falls, Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell. We work our very hardest to respond to every call for help!
PAWS Rescue, Inc. saves all breeds of cats and dogs of all ages as well as animals who have been hit by cars, shot, abandoned, abused, and neglected.
Rescued animals are placed in loving foster homes or transferred to other no kill partner facilities giving them a chance to find the perfect forever home. Our efforts give these deserving animals a second chance at a happy life.
Every animal receives veterinary evaluation and care, including spay/neuter and vaccines, as well as treatment for any other medical issue they may have. No animal is ever euthanized due to expense.
