My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Scooby was brought in by his previous owner on January 6, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Scooby! This sweet and playful pup is looking for a loving home where he can thrive. Scooby has been around older children and did well, so he's great with family. He loves playing fetch and is always ready for some fun and exercise. While he can be reactive on leash with other dogs, he has lived with another dog before and got along well. Scooby is used to being an outdoor dog and will need some help with housetraining as he transitions to indoor living. He can be a little shy in new situations, but with patience and understanding, he'll build confidence and settle into his new home. If you're looking for a playful, loving companion who just needs a little time to adjust, Scooby could be the perfect fit for you!

At SDHS:
Scooby has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Scooby is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
