My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A VERY ACTIVE CHARMER:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 34 lbs.

Hi, I’m Rudy!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am so grateful to be on the journey to my new home with a loving family! I like to stay busy at the shelter and look forward to having a family that will be very active with me – perhaps that is you?

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, but I am a mouthy player, so perhaps older kids will be best for me.  I’ll be tested with children soon. Let’s meet and no very young kids please.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a super happy fellow and boy – you should hear all the great things the volunteers are saying about me!  One says that I am her favorite and another rushed home to tell his wife how great I was!  I’ve also heard them say that I’m ‘quite the charmer’. How about that?  I am a very playful boy with a fun, busy and friendly spirit. A real ‘people dog’ who loves interacting with the nice volunteers. / My energy level is 6-8+, so get ready to be active with your new best friend!

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I look forward to learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  I’m working on my leash skills now, as I tend to pull, jump and am a bit mouthy on my leash during walks. A good leader who wants to be active with their dog could be a great match for me! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've been having accidents on the shelter schedule and will need you to finish potty training me.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like toys and especially love the stuffed ones.  Going for long walks and then playing in the MM play yard is also really fun!  Being with people and soaking up all the love makes me a happy boy, too. I even love shoulder massages and of course being petted.  I visited a home for a day and did like picking things up that weren’t mine, so I’ll want help learning what’s mine and what isn’t. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.

I am looking for a great home with a loving family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
