My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boomer

Available for Foster to Adopt

Ever dreamed of having a walking buddy who's also a professional toy enthusiast? Hi, I'm Boomer!

Let me tell you a little about myself – I'm a 2-year-old retriever mix with a gorgeous chestnut coat that I absolutely love getting brushed (seriously, grooming time is the best time!). At 58 pounds, I'm the perfect size for both adventures and cuddles!

I made my way up here from Southern Illinois looking for my forever family, and I've got to say – I've got so much love to give! One of my favorite things is going for walks, and not to brag, but I'm pretty great at it. My leash manners are on point, if I do say so myself!

People are my absolute favorite thing in the world (well, maybe tied with toys – I do LOVE my toys!). I'm the kind of dog who really connects with my humans and loves being part of all the action. Whether we're going for a walk, having a play session, or just hanging out while I get brushed, I'm always up for quality time with my people.

Want to know what I'd bring to your life? A walking partner who's always ready for the next adventure, a loyal friend who loves nothing more than being by your side, and a playful companion who knows how to make you smile. Plus, I clean up pretty nice with my shiny chestnut coat!

Would you like to meet? I'd love to show you my toy collection and maybe go for a walk together! I promise to bring my best leash manners and brightest smile!

I will be neutered and microchipped and have had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325. For more information or if you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption survey at carenorthshore.org/dog-adoption-survey

Tail wags and hopeful wishes, Boomer

P.S. Did I mention I love getting brushed? Because I really, really do!

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
