Hello! My name is Howard, but everyone calls me Howie, and I’m a charming 9-week-old Lab mix with a curious and adventurous nature. Exploring, especially outdoors, is one of my favorite things to do, and I’m perfectly content to entertain myself with some solo play. My nose is quite sharp – I can always tell when my food is ready, and I’ll sit patiently to let you know I’m aware it’s on the counter!

I’ve already learned to sit on command and I’m happy to wait patiently to come inside. Cuddling is one of my greatest joys, and I can nap anywhere, anytime. I’m fully potty trained and follow a consistent schedule, so I’m a breeze to care for. I get along wonderfully with both dogs and cats, and I sleep peacefully in my crate overnight with just one quick potty break.

I’m quick to learn, affectionate, and have just the right balance of chill and playful energy. I would be the perfect companion for any family looking for a loving, fun, and well-behaved pup. Could I be the furry friend you’ve been waiting for?

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Application and more info may be found at: peaklabrescue.com/adopt. Please allow 24 hours for your application to be reviewed.

2.
Meet the Pet

If approved, you will be given the foster's contact info. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS. You must come to Apex, NC (near Raleigh) to meet in person.

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

If it's a match you can take your dog home that day. Our Adoption Fee is $325 and you must complete and sign our Adoption Agreement.

4.
Take the Pet Home

If you return the dog within 7 days of adoption you may receive a refund of $275. A $75 administrative fee is required to cover our costs.

Additional adoption info

You will receive the dog's Vet records via email 7-10 days after adoption. You will receive the dog's microchip info and rabies tag (if appropriate) via USPS about 2 weeks after adoption.

Our Mission is to end dog homelessness in North Carolina. We save Lab Mixes and other dogs from abuse, neglect, abandonment, and high-kill shelters.
