My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Camden (previously Dynum) has found himself back at the humane society unfortunately, but that's ok we are confident that he will find a new home!

Speaking of confidence, Camden needs some help finding his. The volunteer's are helping him while he is here, showing him that the people, walks, the world in general is NOT too scary of a place. It will however, take time, so he needs an understanding adopter.

Camden does not seem bothered walking around the other dogs or cats, but doesn't seem to enjoy male dogs as much according to his previous adopter.

With the right dog, we think it may help Camden learn how to "dog".

Camden is improving every day as the staff and volunteers work with him. He certainly is one that the sooner he is out of the shelter environment, the better.

Camden is over weight and needs a walks, exercise, and a diet for him to be his healthiest best self. (You can see the difference in his pictures and tell the older ones vs the newer ones.) Let get him back to his old self!

- Original Bio Prior to Previous Adoption -

Dynum and Bando came in from the same home after sadly not being very well cared for. Now, they can't wait to find out what it means to finally be in a loving forever home!

These adorable boys are both very friendly and easy going, and easy to handle. Dynum seems to be a bit more cautious than his brother and likes to get a good sniff in before he gets to know you. He likes to get his treats first, then some pets, and then a nice walk!

Dynum is still a puppy and may gain a few more pounds but he is currently around 36 pounds. He's still figuring life out, but being so young - training should be a breeze for him! He is dog friendly, but his brother and him started to get a bit territorial over their food in their shared kennel. We separated them, but any potential adopter would need to be willing to work through any resource guarding if going to a home with other dogs. He's tested very well with cats as well.

Dynum says he's people, dog, and cat approved - the total package! What more could you ask for?

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Wicomico County was started in 1968 by a group of people who wanted to help improve the lives of animals. We have come a long way in our 40+ years! We have a staff dedicated to making sure the animals that come to our doors are loved and protected as they wait for their forever home. Not only are our animals vaccinated, wormed and given flea preventative, we can treat animals that come to us with mange, ringworm, heartworm and pay for animals to be seen by an outside vet should there be a need. We have an on-site spay/neuter clinic that not only is used for our animals but we also offer low cost spay/neuter for animals of the public. We provide emergency boarding for victims of domestic abuse, fire, and medical emergencies. We also have the capability to set up an off-site emergency shelter for people evacuated from their homes. In addition, we have an education program to help teach kids about being a responsible pet guardian. We work with a wide range of rescue groups and our animals have been transported from our mid-Atlantic area throughout the North Eastern United States. Our shelter is an open admission shelter and we will take in approximately 3500 animals this year. We do what we do because of our love for animals and our desire to make a difference in their lives every single day.
