My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Smokey!

I’m a super chill 2-year-old female coonhound mix, and I weigh in at a solid 50 lbs. I’m the kind of dog that enjoys life at a relaxed pace—whether I’m lounging around or out for a walk, I have a calm demeanor that makes me easy to be around. My kennel manners are great, so I know how to keep things neat and tidy when it’s time to settle in.

I’m also a dog-friendly gal—whether I’m hanging out with my dog pals or meeting new ones, I get along with just about everyone. I’m pretty sure I could live with cats too, since I’ve never had an issue with them. I’m leash trained, so walks are a breeze. I love kids, and I’m always happy to be around the little ones!

I'm a shy dog who takes time to warm up to new people. While new situations can trigger anxiety for me, I enjoy the company of other low-energy dogs and have a particular preference for smaller dogs weighing 30 pounds or less. I like jumping up and resting my head on people—but I do it gently, not like I'm trying to know you over.

If you’re looking for a laid-back companion who’s calm, well-mannered, and ready to be your best friend, I think we’ll get along just great!
