*** To alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty Society has the Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. These animals are not located in any of the Society`s physical locations. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please do NOT click the Adopt Me button and instead reach out to the current owner directly via the email provided in the profile. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. ***
Bart has no past or existing health issues, medication, or dietary restrictions. He has no issues using the litter box so long as it is not too enclosed or too dirty, as he is a bigger cat. However, he will always give you ample warning that he has to go by following you around the house and meowing. He currently uses a stainless steel, top-entry litter box with no issue. While we have a litter robot, he generally does not use it and prefers the top-entry. Since we do not have kids, we cannot say for certain how exactly Bart would behave in their presence. However, given his personality, I believe that he would be scared at first but would definitely warm up over time. He is very friendly and docile, while a little timid initially. Bart has never had any issues with getting his nails trimmed, but prefers to have treats nearby. Bart has done quite well warming up to other pets in the few times where we have pet sat for friends’ cats. Like any cat, he takes several days to really warm up, but is usually wary rather than antagonistic, particularly if the cat is higher energy/extremely friendly. Bart is very bonded to Buzz, and they often cuddle on the couch when they are home alone or at night. They are undoubtedly a package deal. Bart really loves human interaction, and becomes quite clingy and attention-seeking when we return from an extended period away from home. He loves cuddling while sitting on the couch or in bed at night, and loves head rubs, tummy rubs, and being brushed. He’s a sweet boywho loves a lot of food – he prefers dry to wet, but loves eating anything (although he hasn’t tried human food).
