My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Sonny Dee!

This adorable senior pup recently returned to our care after the loss of his owner. Now, Sonny is searching for a home filled with as much love and warmth as his last during his golden years.

Sonny Dee is quite the gentleman with a heart full of love and a spirit that shines. Though he’s in his golden years, Sonny’s enthusiasm for life is undeniable! He can happily join you on a 3-mile stroll, but he’s just as content spending the day curled up by your side or enjoying a peaceful nap in a sunny spot. Sonny is in great shape for his age, thanks to a special diet and two daily supplements that keep his liver in tip-top condition.

This sweet boy forms deep bonds with his family. He adores belly rubs, sitting close to his favorite person, and lounging in the yard to soak up the sun. Sonny thrives on routine and companionship, and he would do best with someone who is home often to keep him company.

Sonny is polite and low-key around other mellow dogs and would be fine with cats, but he prefers a quieter home highly active pets. While he may take a moment to warm up to new people, once he does, his loyalty and affection are unmatched. Sonny would prefer to find a home with adult adopters at this time.

Sonny Dee is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be arranged once your application has been received and approved. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org for our online dog application.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fees help to cover the cost of the care the animal has received during their time with us, including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, deworming, and flea treatment and basic foster care.

All potential adopters complete an application and are screened using a standardized series of questions by a trained adoption counselor. If the application and screening are satisfactory, a qualified adopter can complete a contract, pay the adoption fee and take the animal home.
