Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chi Chi is a 5-year-old, goofy sweetheart looking for her forever home!
This cute, stripey girl taker her time to warm up to new people—she still hides from the other residents in my home, but after several months she's become a total lap cat. She loves to spend all night curled up at her foster mom's feet and will happily be the first face you see in the morning. She has so many opinions to share with you and will easily hold a conversation if she thinks she's not receiving enough attention.
This cutie pie is quick to explore new things, but even quicker to run away if she thinks they're too scary. She likes to spend her mornings and afternoons curled up in a dark, quiet space, and her evenings and nights playing with her toys, loafing next to you, and playing with her sister, Boca Chica.
Once she feels safe in a new space, Chi Chi will happily show her curious side by jumping to new heights and investigating your plants and figurines. She's a very affectionate cat and will ask for attention by giving you a very firm headbutt. She loves scritches everywhere and is especially fond of tummy rubs.
This gal is definitely a night owl—once the sun goes down, she gets a serious case of the zoomies! She loves to play chase with her sister, jump after the laser pointer, and kick her catnip banana to shreds. She is also a serious cuddler—if you're watching TV, working at a desk, etc., she will be perfectly content to sit at your side.
Chi Chi currently lives with her sister Boca Chica, her foster mom, and three other young women in a home. She's brave enough to venture to the rest of her house if her foster mom is there but gets scared easily by other people and loud noises.
Chi Chi would thrive in a quieter home with either her Boca Chica or another young cat to match her drive to play. Due to her skittish nature, she would do best in a home with older children or adults only (she hasn’t met any dogs yet). Given her background, a compassionate, loving family that does not travel frequently is preferred.
Chi Chi is a hidden gem for a patient adopter! Just three months ago, she was withdrawn and constantly hiding, but now she has warmed up to being held, being petted by her foster mom's roommates, and sleeping next to her foster mom every night.
She has not had any issues with biting or scratching, and is an excellent head-butter! This lovely girl had a rough start but is so ready to enjoy the safe, cozy indoor life in a loving forever home. Could that be with you?
Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat? Please fill out Pet Haven’s adoption application: http://bit.ly/2fd9U2Fpethavenmnwww..org/adopt.
All ages and breeds are a best estimate. Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.
All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow-up visits.

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
