Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Minnie is a young, playful, affectionate, 2-year-old calico kitty looking for her forever home.
This busy girl likes to spend her days chirping for human attention, playing with toys of all types, and getting those well-deserved pets from her human subjects. She is a medium- to high-energy gal and does really well with her litter box and scratching post.
Minnie currently lives with adult humans, middle school age kids, other cats and a dog in a single-family home. This lovely princess is currently looking for a new castle to rule. She does well with kids but does occasionally nip when overstimulated and is not a fan of loud noises or being restrained, so a cat-savvy owner with only older children may be in everyone's best interest.
This adorable girl does seem to have a dominant personality (she is a calico, after all); she likes to boss other kitties around, in a friendly way. For this reason, Minnie would enjoy having another confident kitty in the home. She has grown to become confident around our active 50-lb dog, so may be okay with a respectful canine buddy.
Minnie was found as a stray but did have a family once, as she came into the shelter with a collar. She is ready to live the cozy indoor life in her forever home with a caring, affectionate family who understands and appreciates her calico sass. Could that be with you? ---- Minnie will be spayed mid January and will be able to go to her forever home 5 days after her surgery once she's all healed up!
Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat? Please fill out Pet Haven’s adoption application: http://bit.ly/2fd9U2Fpethavenmnwww..org/adopt.
All ages and breeds are a best estimate. Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.
All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow-up visits.

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

How We Help

Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
