Meet Pee Wee, the sweetest soul you`ll ever encounter. His friendly and curious nature make him a joy to be around and he is appreciate of any attention you give him. Despite his gentle and mellow demeanor, Pee Wee is a playful and energetic companion. He weighs nine pounds and loves to cuddle, but can be a bit shy and submissive at times. He always wants to be petted and give kisses. He`ll continue to gaze at you until you give in. He`s a bit whiny and needy, wanting to be carried and stay close to his human friends. Pee Wee loves giving kisses and is a true people dog. We don`t know how he`ll behave around other dogs or children and don`t know if he is house trained. He`s looking for a home where he can shower his new family with love and affection. Adopt Pee Wee and gain a loyal friend who will bring endless joy and companionship to your life. (tw 1/14/2025)

Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

Dogs
A second dog or puppy, adopted within 30 days of the first adoption receives a $20 discount.
Dogs (over 15 lbs) $105

Special Discounts
Seniors for Seniors - Special Senior Citizen (60 yrs +) No charge for an animal 7 yrs or older.
Military Families - 50% of adoption fees waived for military personnel and veterans. (proof of eligibility required)
Any dog/puppy adopted at the same time as a cat/kitten will be adoptable at a $20 discount.

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
