A little bit about Hera: - children unknown - cats / small animals unknown - dogs unknown, potential for other dog in home pending successful dog-to-dog
Get ready to meet Hera, a sweet and active girl who just needs a little time to warm up to new people. Because she can be shy when meeting strangers, Hera is hoping to find an energetic family that can offer her plenty of patience, space, and tasty treats to help her warm up in her new home. Then there will be plenty of opportunities for long walks together, fun playtime, and lots of snuggles! Having time to play with her chew toys and settle down for some cuddles is her favourite! In the foster home, it was noted that Hera did have a little bit of separation stress and would benefit from owners that can dedicate extra time to helping her develop coping skills for when her people have to go to work. She also requires a special diet and medication to help with her allergies, but the counsellors can go over that when you come to learn more about her. Hera is waiting for her new forever, will she be sharing it with you?

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
