My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 8 years
Weight: 24.9 kg

A little bit about Davie:
- children okay, supervision with all interactions should be monitored by an adult due to Davie`s nervousness with new people
- cats / small animals unknown
- dogs okay pending successful dog-to-dog

Delicate Davie is the type of dog that needs to get to know you first before she shows you her sweet side. A family that is able to go slow with Davie, understand her body language, and respect her boundaries would be the best fit. As she adjusts, you`ll see more and more of her affectionate, active, and loveable nature! Davie loves her cuddles after a good long run and her fetch philosophy is `throw the ball, but don`t take the ball`. She was even noted to live amicably with a small child and other dogs in the home, but all interactions should be supervised by an adult to ensure that everyone is getting along properly. Although her age is starting to creep up on her, Davie would still love the opportunity to stretch her legs daily. If Davie sounds like the dog for you, then come give her a visit today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
