My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Three-year-old Puma is ready to find her forever home! This 52-pound sweetheart was surrendered to the shelter with her two puppies when her owner could no longer care for them. She's used to the comforts of home and can't wait to get back to that life.
Puma is a bundle of joy with endless "puppy forever" energy! She can be a little jumpy at times, but with some direction and reinforcement training, she'll thrive in a loving home. She just needs a consistent routine and lots of affection to be her best self.
Puma has the potential to go home with other dogs and would be a great fit for families with dog-savvy kids who can appreciate her playful nature. Come meet her Tinton Falls, NJ!

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.

Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
