My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I lived with children in my previous home.

I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing.

Roxy tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.

My foster writes: Roxy is a sweet cat that takes some time warming up to her environment. She moves at her own pace and prefers it that way! Being picked up is scary for her, but cheek scratches will get her purring. Don't mind her loafing in the corner that's just where she's most comfortable. Slow and steady is the key to her heart.

A volunteer writes: Roxy's a diamond shining in every direction though she may look a little unsure. And sometimes she even acts a little unsure, especially as she prefers to nap with her little nose pressed against the wall. This is an interesting choice for such a sweetly social cat. I opened the door and Roxy hopped out of her box and came over for just a moment before returning to her cozy little bed. Gently stretching her paws out as she curled into a circle, she tucked her head into my hand and softly sighed. As I watched her relax into some neck scritches, I realized that Roxy's not completely sure how to stand out in the busy Care Center, but I can assure you Roxy's a standout cat. She's known to be affectionate and friendly, a loveable and playful sweetheart. I couldn't really offer so much advice to Roxy on how she can possibly stand out a little bit more, but I explained that her forever family will see the wonderful kitty inside.
