Cubby: black/white bicolor, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 9/1/23, #18968 (one eye) Marty: black/white bicolor, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 10/1/22, #18985 (bear cub ears)
Cats: **BONDED PAIR**, no others Dogs: likely okay Children: savvy tweens+ or adults
BACKGROUND: Cubby and Marty McFly are two of nearly 30 cats who were discovered packed into crowded crates and dumped by a river. The Rescue House stepped up to help the large clowder. The cats were all underweight and needed lots of TLC and varying degrees of medical care, including full dental extractions for both of these boys, but their sweet and loving personalities were clear from the start!
PERSONALITY: They are such handsome and playful black-and-white boys! ---Cubby arrived with a damaged left eye that needed removal. It almost looks like Cubby’s winking at you when he earnestly meets your eyes… love and pettings, please? Cubby doesn’t demand, he requests, and he is such a sweetheart. Though Cubby isn’t always bold about putting himself forward and he needs some adjustment time to new spaces, he’s got one of the biggest and best purrs out there when he settles into your shoulder while you hold him. He loves attention and will come get in your lap. Cubby likes to skitter across hard floors with his mouse toys and pipe cleaners, roll around on floor mats with his kickers, play hallway soccer, and carry around his prize springs (with those, he’ll even play fetch!). He also goes bonkers for laser pointers. Cubby’s got an adorable raspy meow. ---Marty is a special boy who experienced several medical crises; while he came out on top of those challenges and has blossomed into a happy, healthy, and loving kitty, he has some permanent aftereffects. He needs some understanding and accommodation as his brain processes things differently than your typical cat. His eyes are always dilated and he walks oddly. Marty will joyfully bunny-kick his favorite fuzzy kicker toy, loves floppy catnip toys, springs, rattly mice, and other things he can bat around (or flick under a door or couch) but he has a hard time tracking faster-moving wands or laser pointers. He likes to have his sides, belly, and rump petted more than his back, and can sink down to the ground if you reach toward his head, though once he realizes all is well then further pets are most welcome.
