My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lugnut is one of the dogs who was brought up from Los Angeles in a rescue effort to help our shelter partners down South deal with the fallout from the devastating wildfires. His adoption fee has been generously sponsored by donors!

Lugnut is a 4-year-old Shepherd mix with a big heart to match his big size. This athletic boy loves life and is always ready to play fetch, explore, and share his joyful spirit. Despite his outgoing personality, Lugnut is still working on building his confidence when it comes to being handled. He’s looking for dedicated adopters who can read his cues, give him the patience he needs, and help him feel secure.

Lugnut thrives with positive reinforcement, and his eagerness to bond makes him a fantastic companion for someone willing to guide him with love and understanding. If you’re ready to open your heart to this lovable, energetic guy, Lugnut is ready to show you just how much love he has to give!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
