My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Roni!

I am 4 years old. I am a female Shepherd/heeler mix (at least that’s what my markings look like).

I love playing with a good chew toy and running around the backyard so it would be best to be in a home with a backyard. I also love sunbathing, and cuddling with you on the couch. I like to go on walks but I am still not the greatest on a leash (I get better and better every day).

I like to sleep in my kennel and don’t mind hanging out in there. I am also house trained. I know basic commands, but can learn more since I’m pretty smart.

I do get excited and like to jump on people sometimes, but I’m working on it. I love other dogs, but I’m not the biggest fan of cats. I’ve been around kids and I don’t mind them.

I would love to find a family that is active and loving! If you’re looking for a loyal and affectionate bestie, I’m your girl!

I am 60 lbs., spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all my vaccinations. I am also heartworm negative and take a preventative every month.

Roni is a Courtesy Post. Big Love Rescue is helping with the rehoming process. If you are interested in adopting please fill out an application at bigloverescue.org.

Additional adoption info

We are extremely thorough with our adoption process. Our goal is to find the best fit for our dogs. We reserve the right to deny anyone a dog if we feel the applicant is not qualified or is not a good fit for the dog at our discretion. We require two personal references that we call to check character and get a recommendation on why or why not the applicant is a good candidate. Also, we call the vet reference to be sure the applicants current dog is current on vaccinations and heartworm prevention. The home check is mandatory to be sure the applicant lives where they say they live and the pet will live in a safe environment.

More about this rescue

The Charity's specific purpose is to rescue lost or abandoned dogs from shelters, from the streets or from owners who are no longer able to care for them. Our goal is to prevent further euthanasia of these animals. All dogs receive medical care and behavioral training as needed to prepare them for a new home.
We do not have a facility.
All of our dogs are in foster homes.
The charity will also focus on efforts to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their animals to prevent the overpopulation of animals in Texas.
Our adoption fee is $300 which includes alteration, vaccines, microchip, training program in some cases & any medical treatments needed for each dog to be 100% healthy and successful in a home. Must have an approved application to set up a meet and greet.
