My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HISTORY: PJ, CHARLIE, and TEDDY were rescued as 4-month-old kittens being raised by their stray mom IVY. Their rescuer fostered them until they were ready for adoption.
TEMPERAMENT: PJ is a sweet young lady who loves to cuddle with her siblings and gets along very well with adult cats in her foster home. Initially frightened of humans, PJ has thrived in her foster home, becoming confident and playful. She loves to chase toy mice, wands, and other cats. PJ is comfortable being picked up and cuddled and will even allow kisses and tight hugs once she gets to know you and feels safe. She is happy to relax on the couch with you and enjoys naps on beds, especially in a cuddle pile with other cats. PJ clearly needs the companionship of another kitty in her forever home. If PJ had a job, she would be a hostess at a restaurant, happy to welcome you and show you to your seat.

Once approved to adopt, an adoption advisor will work with you to meet the purrfect cat(s) for your household.

Sign Adoption Contract

When appropriate, cats may go home for a trial period to ensure a good fit. All adoptions must be finalized by signing a contract in person.

We have a modest shelter at our boarding facility, Santa Fe Cats, and rely mainly on foster homes when cats are not on display at our Adoption Centers located inside Petco Santa Fe and the Turquoise Teapot & Cat Cafe. We also have cats inside a habitat at Teca Tu.

Felines & Friends is dedicated to rescuing and placing pets in need of a second chance; working towards zero pet overpopulation by facilitating low-cost spay/neuter; and improving the lives of both companion animals and their owners through on-going education.

In recent years, significant strides have been made in reducing the euthanasia rate of dogs and cats all across the nation. FELINES & FRIENDS plays an important role in this effort by supporting community TNR efforts, spaying/neutering and then rehoming unaltered stray and surrendered cats, and (through collaboration with local shelters) rehoming otherwise homeless or special needs cats and kittens. Since its formation in 2002, FELINES & FRIENDS has gained a reputation in Northern New Mexico for its proactive work in the pairing of cats and their humans. To date, we have placed over 6,000 cats (and dogs) into loving homes.

FELINES & FRIENDS utilizes a comprehensive adoption screening process to enhance the fit between pet and their adoptive family. The organization also maintains a strict return policy if ownership commitment cannot be met.
