My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

Meet Sweetie: The Princess Who Demands Attention!
Sweetie is a 1-year-old German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her personality. She’s a true princess, and she knows it! With her adorable squinty eyes and charming attitude, she’ll have you wrapped around her paw in no time. Whether it’s a belly rub, cuddle session, or just some quality time together, Sweetie demands your undivided attention—and she’s very good at getting it!
Not only is Sweetie a total sweetheart with people, but she’s also great with other dogs! Whether she’s playing or lounging with her canine companions, she gets along beautifully with her furry friends.
Sweetie is playful, loving, and ready to be the center of your world. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will shower you with affection (and maybe a little bit of attitude), Sweetie is the one for you!
If you think you can handle this princess and her royal demands, reach out today to give Sweetie the forever home she deserves.
Adopt Sweetie—The Princess is Waiting!
Sweetie is a mixed breed who is estimated to be 1 year old and weighs 65lbs. She was rescued off the streets in the middle of a snow storm, along with her 2 companions. Sweetie has not lived indoors, to our knowledge, so we can't say what her housetraining status is. She is currently in a large fenced yard, with a heated shed to lounge in. She has not had accidents in the shed, which is a pretty good indication that she will be easy to housetrain. She will also need work on leash walking. Her foster mom works a lot and is keeping Sweetie and friends safe, but doesn't have much time for training. She will require a little bit of effort in the beginning but she is so worth it! She is a smart girl who wants to make her people happy, which will make training easy.

More about this rescue

Adopt-A-Stray was founded in Jan. 2010, by Kelley Prichard. Since then, it has grown to include a few wonderful volunteers who work very hard to help ensure that our pets are place in loving, forever homes. We are based in Alexander, AR, but we list all of our available pets in the northeast. We work with several different transporters to get our babies to their new homes in the northeast once they are adopted. The transporter we use most often Pack Leaders (www.plrdogtransport.com). All pets are given age appropriate vaccinations before they leave. Every pet is seen by our vet prior to transport. If you see a pet listed that interests you, please be sure to read the description thoroughly and inquire to the email address listed. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
