Meet Axelle!

Axelle is an adorable male Border Collie mix born in August 2024. He came to us as an owner surrender from Spencer County after being part of an accidental litter.

Currently thriving in a foster home, Axelle gets along wonderfully with other dogs, is comfortable around cats, and enjoys spending time with older kids. This sweet, playful pup has a big heart and an even bigger capacity for love—he truly loves to love!

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated, if necessary.

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
