Now Recruiting: Tex – Head of Squirrel Patrol

Tex is an 8-year-old Beagle mix, weighing in at 33 lbs of pure determination. Pulled from the 53-dog hoarding case in November, he has overcome his past and is ready to start his next mission: finding a forever home!

When he’s not busy being an affectionate, playful sweetheart, Tex takes his Squirrel Patrol duties very seriously. One moment, he’s lounging by your side, and the next—SQUIRREL! He’ll be on high alert, scanning the perimeter, ensuring no sneaky critter invades his territory. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it!

Tex’s Credentials:
Great with kids – When he’s off duty, he loves their company.
Dog-friendly – Enjoys respectful pups who won’t interfere with patrol time.
No cats allowed – He already has his paws full with squirrels.

We require all adopters to complete an application and pay an adoption fee. Adoption fees vary, but are usually $160 to $185. We may do a vet reference check and/or home visit.

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
