My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scout is a Shep mix we think. He lived with a well to do family in the south that moved and decided to dump him at an overcrowded shelter. We couldn’t leave him there as he deserved better. He is 4 yrs old has lived with kids and is housebroken. He is great with other dogs. Scout will be here on 1/25 for a new family of his own. He will be fostered in Lewiston.

More about this rescue

Passion for Pets Rescue (PPR) is a non-profit (501c3), insured and state licensed rescue, run by volunteers. We are a small group of like minded folks with big hearts. PPR does not have an actual shelter, all of our dogs are either in foster homes in Maine or with our Southern partners in Mississippi.

PPR covers all medical expenses. The majority of the dogs we rescue require immediate veterinary care. Skin infections and internal parasites are common occurrences. We pay for all spay & neuter surgeries. PPR makes sure all dogs are given age appropriate vaccinations, as well as, preventative medication for Heartworm and external parasites.
