My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Anderson! This sweet 6 pound boy is approximately 2 years old (as estimated by animal control and the initial vet that saw him at intake). Anderson is one of the dogs that were picked up in Turkey Point in the fall of 2024.
He has been updated on all of his shots, neutered and has been given a dental. Please note he has an incisor underneath the gum. It is likely it will never descend. Currently it does not cause him any issues, however we cannot confirm if it will be the cause of an issue in the future or not.
He has settled well into his foster home. And is now ready for adoption.
Once he warms up to you, he’ll quickly become really close to you. It does take a while, please keep that in mind.. Once he is comfortable, he gets along well with adults and well-mannered children, though he can be a bit shy and may run away at times.
He is crate trained and remains quiet while inside, he has good potty manners by using his pee pad, as he does not prefer going outside for bathroom breaks. He is able to use stairs well. While he doesn’t bark much, he may join in if he hears other dogs barking. Because he is a chihuahua and from a history that we don’t know a whole lot about, his is still learning to trust humans and comes across quite fearful.
He enjoys playing with his toys and appreciates a lot of attention. This little guy needs a caring adopter who will engage him with toys and give him all the cuddles he deserves. Another dog (that is chill and good with other dogs) in the home is necessary.
He absolutely loves cheese, chicken broth and treats! He loves being by your side and being close but also loves his alone time. He needs a patient adopter that will give him time to adapt to his new surroundings and give him the love that he deserves.
DISCLAIMER: I understand that the breed, health, age, nature or temperament of the TXCR adopted dog is not guaranteed. I understand that said dog is a rescue that has come from the streets or shelters and that there is no history on this animal.
